Please vote in the Tue June 26, 2018 Democratic Party Primary for me!
We should have comprehensive and effective gun control. The real dangers of guns are much worse than the hoped for benefits. AR15's are not for hunting (and NRA knows it).
Get the changes wanted by Bernie & Hillary! (Good fight, Bernie)
4Petesake.NYC is a call for a revolution to fully move forward into the 21st century: For Pete sake, NYC, it's about time we adopt 21st century methods!
I changed my position on what's possible and needed for the USA:
I support assault rifle ban (expired in 2004), because of the Orlando Nightclub Shooting by man on watch list and for the Florida school shooting. I hereby pledge that upon my first 100 days in office, I will file a gun control bill (or co-sponsor an existing one).
I am upset and angry that my opponent Rep Carolyn Maloney refuses to debate me, and yet we as a country need a debate on gun laws. If fellow Dems can't debate, she does not deserve to be in Congress.
If you're excited by my stands on a few of these issues, especially gun control and government corruption, I'd be thrilled to have you as a fellow citizen volunteer to work with me to move my campaign forward. I need your help.
Rep Carolyn Maloney violated her Oath of Office
Rep Maloney has refused to use proof of a law-breaking SDNY Judge Sullivan to even begin impeachment procedures, with her aide saying about witness intimidation that "every judge" does this. If as Maloney's office contends "every judge" violates the attempt to intimidate a witness, then perhaps putting Sullivan in prison for a month may change other judges' behavior. Investigating impeachment is especially troublesome since only Congress can remove a federal judge, and I consider this a violation of Rep Maloney's oath* to protect and defend the US Constitution and its laws. Sullivan "attempted" to threaten me which would be 20 years in prison (if you did it). The attempt was filing a contempt of court for writing a US Marshal about this judge's possible law violation. The judge's attempted threat is in here and a lawyer's analysis of this violation is here . I note that at least one witness was also threatened -- all are violations of law, and NY State and Federal agencies refused to act upon this, or threatened me for bringing this (as "baseless accusations") to their attention instead of them checking out any part of the accusations.
*"support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic"
Carolyn Maloney is accepting help of a blackmailer, and refuses to comment upon it. A strange and illegal blackmail threat was made to me via an intermediary in the last few weeks: a public employee said that if I ran against Rep Carolyn Maloney, they'd release a photo of me in some type of compromising position. I was told that the photo was of me from neck down (is that specific enough? I reported it Ms Maloney and to the US Special Counsel on Saturday, March 17, 2018 5:05 PM).
It’s 2018. For one thing, you should not have to mail a letter or send a fax when working with businesses or civic & social organizations. We’ve moved beyond what was possible in 1790, when Ben Franklin was the postmaster – or even 1980 for that matter. You should be able to scan, email, cell photograph, text, and/or submit online whatever what you need to get across without all the pesky waiting times. That's the 21st century way!
The web and social media should be encrypted: others should not read our emails and texts without a search warrant, and spam can be blocked if they don't have a key.
I’m Pete Lindner, a two-time MIT grad doing risk management & statistical analysis. I've got a passion for fighting injustices. Along with fighting for gun control (more below), I want to represent New York in modernizing and reinforcing our way of living: I’d do this by expanding everyone’s accessibility to today’s technological resources & opportunities, in addition to using them to improve online security and gun control measures; creating more jobs in high-crime areas to stimulate the livelihoods of hard-working and disenfranchised people, as well our economy; making legislation that uses our tax money and government funds for good by actually regulating online violations of privacy and property (the very same way you’d be busted for tampering with a USPS mailbox); ensuring accountability for corruption and misdeeds in all branches of our government, from legal to executive to judicial, by creating a well organized & maintained public registry of complaints filed against public officials, departments, or agencies; and fighting to bolster ongoing research & developments in food, diseases, and science. In 2 words: Integrity and Freedom.
Above all, empowering we the people again, especially those feeling let down or disenchanted by the powers that be, so that we all feel engaged with and secure in our society.
- Progressive policies and open minds lead to opportunities for all.
- With a rational and thoughtful approach, we can effectively filter out biases, bigotry, and bureaucratic obstruction
- Together, we can fight against corruption by encouraging honesty, humility, and accountability
As representative, I would fight to employ existing research that maps out ways to make the web encrypted and safer, so no one can fool you or steal your private info & properties. I would normalize this process across the board, until it’s as every-day familiar as turning a key to unlock a door, and I’d support continued studies to better these processes on down the line.
I intend to champion stronger modes of gun control in addition to the ongoing advancements in background checks, closing of gun show loopholes, increase once dead gun research, establishment of better educational resources, and mental health reform movements initiated federally, all without threatening the second amendment rights of gun-owners. This would mean pioneering legislation calling for technological investment in 'smart guns' to implement finger-print-readers and other personalized ways of user verification, especially smart guns for cops. And after the Parkland School and Orlando nightclub shootings, reinstate the ban on assault weapons.
With a Truth & Reconciliation commission / registry, I intend to combat the many forms of government corruption that are so often swept under the rug, especially by allowing people to submit claim reports for incidents right when they happen – and by ensuring common sense measures like tabulating complaints when they’re filed, as to more easily follow up on the potentially corrupt public officials involved and initiate investigations if necessary.
I often complain to the government or a company: and when I talk to the person, I usually find out they're the wrong one and am told to call a different department. And I'd have to retell the whole story, or lose the connection, and have to repeat the details all over again. I would end that with Personal Electronic Tracking Envelope (PETE) which would capture what you just told one person, so that the next person has all that info, and whom you spoke with, which they can add to without you repeating what you said. Imagine if complaints about possible suspected activity, dangerous conditions, flaws in the system, could all be kept online (or deleted by you) so that people in charge can see if there's a problem, and thus begin to fix it.
I attended a meeting (Apr2018) of Community Board 3 which I never do , and a woman reported (while crying) that a high school in the area had 40% homeless kids. They were trying to install a washer/dryer, since the kids aren't able to clean their clothes. I told that to a friend, and I started crying (I rarely if ever cry outside of movies). If NYC can't handle this, perhaps the US Government should aid cities with homeless families, and provide additional support (along the lines of meals in schools and washer/dryers).
Bottom line: I’d like to put my time and experiences in MIT undergrad and the MIT Sloan School of Management for my master’s, and the fields of business and computers, to best use by kicking off a Congressional campaign that focuses on the possibilities of what we can do together. We are in an exciting, rapidly-developing age of technological growth that can maximize the progress with respect to social responsibilities. But… I can only do my part to prioritize and mend these issues & injustices facing all of us with your help. Let’s seize these opportunities and propel society forward together!
The South African commission worked powerfully to end the brutality of Apartheid, and perhaps a similar commission giving amnesty for honest accounting of bribes would give the people (both those bribed and corporate bribers) a clean start, and help trace bribes so it doesn’t happen again.
